We have the privilege of working with the people of Rwanda, sharing their wonderful hospitality and culture. Our task is to encourage them in their desire to be proficient at English. God called us to Rwanda in the later years of our lives, as we faced retirement. We have been blessed with His provision and mercy. We have learned to trust Him to care for our loved ones at home (including 3 grandchildren). Our service in Rwanda will conclude at the end of 2011, at which time we will return to the U.S. In the meantime, we lean on the Lord and dwell in Him for all things.   

Ministry We are part of a small group of missionaries teaching English to the Friends’ school teachers. We currently live in Kamembe, in the southwest corner of Rwanda near the border with the DRC. This is the final year of a two-year program to partner with the Rwanda Friends Yearly Meeting in meeting the government mandate to change the language of education from French to English. The teachers are struggling to master a new language while they carry out the many responsibilities of their vocation. In all things, God is in control; we witness this in our daily lives.
