Meet Our New Disciples
From
settling in, to making friends, to evangelism, to discipleship, we
have come a long way since we first moved to Aguascalientes a year
and ten months ago. We are beginning to feel like Aguascalientes is
home. Though we are constantly out to meet new people, we also have
begun to evangelize and even disciple some new baby Christians. We
would like to introduce you all to Jaime and Lupita and their
daughter Karen. For those who follow our computer blog you will
know we have talked much about our new friends, but for those who
read our paper letters only we would like you to know them. Jaime
and Lupita came to know Christ in September of 2007. They have
known the Lord only four months, but my how they have grown! They
have shared amazing experiences that they have had with God. They
share insights that they have learned from God’s Word that we are
astounded at, knowing we didn’t teach them that! We love to spend
time discipling them. Right now they are so hungry for knowing God
that they often spend two nights a week with us for 3-6 hours at a
time! Sometimes we cry together when we see awesome things that God
does in their lives, like answer prayer. They have taken down their
idols from their home and have cleaned up their house from unhealthy
things, at their own doing! We have just loved them and encouraged
them, as the Bible says we should, and we watch God work in their
lives. We praise God for their lives. Karen, the daughter already
has her own friend that she has led to Christ. Both Jaime and
Lupita have shared Christ with their family, friends, and
co-workers. Jaime has received some persecution from his entire
family and co-workers at his job, but he understands that this is
something to be expected and just lets it slide off of him. My
favorite quote from Jaime that we hear fairly often from him is, “In
all our years in the Catholic church why have we never been taught
what God’s Word really says?” Please continue praying for Jaime and
Lupita and their daughter Karen, that they would have an enduring,
lifelong relationship with Christ Jesus and would have and unceasing
desire to share the good news of Jesus with the world!
Bethany & Bailey
Bethany and Bailey are settling in to life,
fairly well. Recently we took a trip for Visa work and as we were
coming back into the city, Bethany and Bailey both got excited as
they were going to get to see their friends again. We were thrilled
to see that they had a reason now to come back to Aguascalientes.
This is a big step that has be taken for them to have anticipation
to come back to their “home”. Betty and I are happy to see them
growing and learning and making friends. Praise the Lord for
helping them adjust and feel comfortable!
Thank You All So Much
It is a struggle for me to say “Thank You”.
Don’t take this the wrong way! I am so extremely grateful in my
heart for each of you and your prayer and support and giving that I
just want to do much more than say “Thank You”. I know how much it
takes for you to give of your time, prayer and resources. We were
once in your shoes. And know we are on the receiving end of your
time, prayer and resources and we appreciate you so very much. Not
a day goes by when we don’t think of you and what you do for us!
Thank you from our family to you!
